Mission and Background Story
The Visit Center in Luleå Old Town reached out to Spree, wanting a fun and creative interactive station that displayed their old cottages. The client’s requirements were to implement a mouse family for storytelling and playfulness.
We decided to create The Church Town in 3D like a mini replica with the church and the cottages and use the mouse family as characters moving into the cottages.
Interior and decorate, Drag and Rotate!
Me and my team were tasked with developing a playful station in Unity where the user had to furnish a cabin in the church town with contemporary furnishings and furniture for a mouse family.
The user gets to choose a member of the mouse family, then pick a cottage on the 3D village map and move in! When the mouse moves in, you get to choose some interior features on the outside of the cottage, like doors, windows, and roofs. When you are happy with the outside, you step into the cottage and start with your decorating and furnishing. Choose from different categories like Furniture, Textiles, and Decor and drag them into the 3D environment. The user can drag, rotate, and mix some fun textures on the objects around the room. The objects are designed to look like ”The Older Times” when the cabins were created and lived in.


My Role
In this project, I created the wireframes, flow, and GUI for the station. It was also my task to create and produce the 3D environments and furniture in Blender and Unity, designing the objects according to the customer’s wishes. In the process, I created prefabs, textures, and new materials in Unity.
This station required a lot of UX and testing in order for the user to be able to furnish the cabin/room in the simplest way when rotating and dragging.
My role was also the Art Director for this game solution and project manager, working closely with the clients to ensure that the Gammelstad Church Town with cottages got the right look and feel.
It was a very fun and creative game experience that I’m very proud of creating together with my team at Spree.
