Mission and Background Story
The exhibition is a traveling exhibition in the form of a container, which will be located on, or in connection with, various upper secondary schools from autumn 2022 to May 2025.
In the exhibition, visitors get the experience of a serious crisis and how it can affect society and its inhabitants. The exhibition provides increased understanding that we are all and have been part of Sweden’s preparedness – that everyone is needed and is an important resource for coping with crises as well as possible.
Together with the Spree team, I was a part of creating several interactive stations in this container and traveling exhibition.
A cooperation between SFHM, MSB, and RAÄ.
Everyday life in Crisis
THE PROJECT – I was part of two of three interactive stations in the exhibition;
Everyday Life in Crisis – Is an interactive touch station where the user gets a scenario of an emergency disaster and different choices to handle the situation. Depending on the choices made, they end up on different paths that lead them to the end of the ”story”.
The user has to reflect on how vulnerable they and society are when ordinary things like water, power, and transportation don’t work and what they would do in that situation. The user always has two options, 1 or 2, and a map of their town to see schools, stores, homes, etc.

The Crank Radio
The Crank Radio is an interactive touch station where the user gets to crank a Crank Radio to charge a discharged mobile phone. The phone is displayed on a big touch screen at the exhibition.
An important message and VMA are shown on the phone, and you can also hear the recorded message from the radio. The user is instructed to follow instructions and find more information on the phone’s apps. Different apps and information are shown, and the user gets the choice to share the info. Is this trustworthy information? Where does it come from?
The user explores the different apps on the phone, and by doing so, learns not to trust all sources and news that is shared.
My Role
My role in this project was to work as the UX/UI Designer, creating all the user flows and wireframes for both interactive stations.
I also created all graphics and designs for the Everyday Life in Crisis and The Crank Radio, including icons, mobile applications, GUI, and maps.
For the Crank Radio, I had to design apps and icons that looked ”like the real deal” to remind the user of different public and recognizable organizations like the Police and the Government.
For the ”Everyday Crisis,” there were a lot of user tests to get the flow right when the user always had to make a choice. It was of great importance to figure out the timeline and where to take the user after their choice.
