Mission and Background Story
The Pandemic was still ongoing, and Spree got the task from Swamp Hotel to create a digital platform and world for Klarna and their employees as a fun way to meet up and workshop instead of a physical conference.
The game consists of employer services, customer tasks, and questions, creating a playful and fun environment for discussion and competing. This event/game was going to be held in only 2 days and involve up to around 100 participants at the same time competing against each other.
For this project, the team consisted of two Unity developers, two UX designers, and a really tight deadline.
We were up for a real challenge!
Milestones, KlarnaTaur Studio And Mini Games
THE PROJECT – The game environment is built in Unity as a web solution and consists of several different levels filled with mini-games that users have to complete to get to the next level.
The mini-games are based on different tasks relevant to the customer’s work areas. The games are numerous and were inspired by memory, whac-a-mole, labyrinths, cooperative games, pipes, etc.
However, all were redesigned with a playful twist to suit the gaming world and Klarna’s digital profile.
For the digital world, the team also developed an avatar studio where players could create playful and personal monsters that also align with the customer’s profile in terms of color and shape.
Conceptually, the game platform is an inspiring and playful world, but it should also develop the employees/users in their work areas.

My Role
My role in this project was to work as the UX/UI designer but also to be responsible for concept and design.
In that overall responsibility, my role was working as the AD, and my tasks were to produce concepts, graphic forms, and wireframes for all mini-games.
I created all GUI suitable for the concept for the different courses and the right expression for the KlarnaTaurs and produced 3D assets from the Unity asset store.
Everything was completely according to Klarna’s graphic profile and brand; I had access to Klarna’s brand library and graphic profile.
In this project, I worked together with my other UX team member, sharing the responsibility as the Project Manager, working iteratively with the clients to always keep the right Klarna feel to the game and making sure the time limit was according to plan.
Problems
- Tight time limit!
- Small development team.
Solutions
- Working iteratively together with both clients and developers and user testing a lot under development. No time for mistakes!
- No Solution here, just work as hard as we could and listening to each other.
