Mission and Background Story
I was tasked together with the Spree team to develop the interactive stations for the Swedish pavilion at the great world exhibition in Dubai 2020.
In the exhibition, Spree produced 12 different interactive stations with the theme of sustainability. With the help of the stations, visitors can learn how Sweden is building smart cities, developing next-generation travel, developing a bio-circular economy and innovating life sciences. The Exhibition was open for 6 months in March 2021 instead of 2020. (Covid Pandemic)
The Swedish Pavilion Spree also created the Virtual Digital Exhibition and web for those who didn’t have the opportunity to travel to Dubai for the World Exhibition.
Virtual Digital Exhibition
THE PROJECT
The Virtual Digital Exhibition was categorized in four different parts that took place in the Swedish Pavilion. All categories were divided in four different colors.
- Circular and Bio – base Economy,
- Connected Industry and New materials,
- Next genereation Travel and Transport Smart City
- Life Science.
In the four different parts the user can read about what Sweden is doing for the environment and about the Swedish partners and their innovative solutions for sustainability. Some of the Swedish Partners were Scania, LKAB and Volvo.
In the Virtual Digital Exhibition you can also find the Swedish Pavilions interactive stations and read about them and explore the Pavillion more on the Virtual map.

My Role
My Role in this long and big project was to work on the design of various visual parts as a Graphic designer and UX designer In the form of user testing.
My biggest task in this project was as a UX/UI designer to design the wireframes and create the prototype for the Virtual digital exhibition.
Wireframes Design and Prototype was created with Illustrator and Figma.
The work included creative work taking part of the Swedish government and the Pavillions Graphic library and design created by Bankerwessel.

Research
My research involved analyzing and summarizing material from the Swedish Partners to categorize and to find the right place for them in the Virtual Digital Exhibition.
I gathered useful information together with another team member and UX-designer from Spree working as Copy and content manager.

Problems
- The Swedish partner’s content was massive.
- Pandemic created a big time gap for the World Exhibition and this time gave also time for too many changes and content upgrades.
Solutions
- Research and categorizing, working together which copy and content manager to cut and sort the content. Work a lot with the wireframes smoothness and user flow to make the content seem less heavy.
- Create time for changes and new updates.
