Malibu Digital World

I was part of an agile team tasked with developing the digital platform/game Milestone Mania for Klarna. The game environment is built in Unity and consists of several different levels/levels filled with mini-games that users have to complete to get to the next level.

The mini-games were based on different tasks to develop within the customer’s work areas. The games were many and were inspired by memory, whac a mole, Labyrinths and cooperative games, Pipes etc. But all redesigned with a new playful twist to suit the gaming world and the customer’s digital profile. For the digital world, the team also developed an Avatar studio where players could create playful and personal monsters but which also suited the customer’s profile in terms of color and shape.

Conceptually, the game platform is an inspiring and playful world, but which should also develop the employees/users in their work areas. My team was commissioned by the event agency Ciceron Group to create a digital interactive world for a well-known spirits brand.

The purpose of the digital world was to bring together people from all over the world in the midst of the pandemic to have the opportunity to network and workshop.

The conceptual world was built in 3D in unity in the form of different ”Parts of the World” such as paradise beach, big city and luxurious suburb. The users had to create their own personal Avatar that could mingle around the world and in different rooms such as restaurants, bars and shops. The avatars could chat with each other both in groups and through private chat rooms. Links to documents and videos were found linked to various attributes around the world. Spree’s big challenge was to build a world big enough to accommodate all the customer’s wishes and to conceptually link expression and form to fit the customer’s profile.

The number of users was up to 100, all of whom had to be adapted to different schedules, teams and time zones as the event lasted for three days. Emelie’s assignment consisted of designing the 3D world and 3D assets in Unity, creating 3D assets from Unity’s 3D library adapted to the concept and building the entire world in Unity. She also produced customized items to suit the customer’s profile and wishes, such as bottles, drinks, signs and environments.
