Mall of Scandinavia

I was part of an agile team that created two interactive stations for Mall of Scandinavia’s new playroom The Planet Paramos; The research stations and the Planet Lab. In the Planet Lab you change and create a planet through the control panel’s four touch screen stations. The goal is to achieve harmony on the planet Paramos by creating various ”Natural Materials” and objects within the various elements such as trees, volcanoes, water, wind, mountains, etc. Through exploration and testing of the various elements, the user creates new natural materials that are ”injected” onto Paramos.
With the three research stations, the children get to explore 4 different elements with the help of physical ”cranks” that control animations in different screens that are built into research tubes. The children can, for example, drill down to the earth’s core and explore the earth’s different layers and make a tornado grow.
I has worked with idea generation, workshops and concept development for both stations. I has also produced graphic material such as graphics in the form of 3D objects for the Planet Lab and built up the planet’s expression and design in the 3D program Blender.
I have has also worked together with the team with problem solving and user friendliness as the project has placed high demands on the interaction design and flow development.
